Most people get it wrong the first time, because it doesn't sound right to them.
Remember, DON'T change the order of the clauses.
Step one: Take out the "only if" and replace it with "then." Step two: Put an "If" at the beginning of the sentence.
And a minor point - don't forget the comma after the word before "then."
